    FITS Center Dumalag

    HISTORY

    In 2009, the Department pf Agriculture with the help of Hon. Lilia H. Castro, municipal mayor, and the assistance of Western Visayas Agriculture and Resources Research and Development Consortium (WESVARRDEC), launched the Farmers Information and Technology Services (FITS) Center based in Dumalag, Capiz.

    FITS Dumalag marks the 2nd FITS Center in the province of Capiz and 34th FITS Center in Western Visayas. FITS Dumalag has since sought to provide access to information and livelihood technologies to farmers in the targeted communities. In particular, FITS Dumalag has led the promotion of bamboo, its focus commodity, and bamboo tratment. Since its launch, FITS Dumalag has also tapped the expertise of the Capiz State University, partner member agency (PMA), in the efforts to sustain the information and technology services of the Center.

    FITS Dumalag continues to extend services to the constituents of Dumalag, Capiz giving trainings on relevant livelihoods and technologies to farmers, students, out-of-school youth, household women, and many others while establishing partnerships with other government agencies and offices in the community.


    MISSION

    FITS Dumalag aims to boost the capabilities of the communities through technology trainings and exposition of new and relevant technologies on agriculture and related fields for rural, and national advancement.


    VISION

    FITS Dumalag envisions excellence in dissemianting new and responsive technologies on agriculture, forestry and natural resources for the use and benefit of local constituents and communities.
