History
WESVARRDEC or Western Visayas Agriculture and Resources Research and Development Consortium is an organization of institutions and agencies which attempts to pool limited technical expertise and other resources related to research and development activities in the region. Formally organized in May 4, 1988, it is mandated to establish a unified regional research and development management group for the purpose of planning, integrating, reviewing and coordinating programs of the various member institutions and agencies. With the University of the Philippines Visayas as the lead agency, it aims to maximize the management of resources to advance R&D programs relevant to regional and national developments.
